This briefcase was originally sold by the Victoronix brand (Swiss Army Knife)…I had the briefcase for at least 7 years. It did its job wonderfully, I finally needed a new one and just wanted to get it again. At that time, it was not available, I need a 5″ briefcase….so I ended up with a Vaultz briefcase with their trademark diamond plate…it was affordable but UGLY! Then just a week I saw this briefcase being sold by Amazon under Alpine Swiss….It does not have the Swiss Army Knife logo like my first one, but otherwise identical and so GLAD to have it back!!! This briefcase is great for the money…$59 is not much to pay especially for a 5″ briefcase. My first one used leather-covered wood to make the sides…I hope this one has that too, but I set the new one up and found my same load a little lighter! Glad Amazon took this product on. I don’t think you will be disappointed with this briefcase, especially when you factor in its only $59. Read more

This briefcase is heavy. The whole thing squeaks and strains under its own weight when being carried by the handle, you know, like the way you’d expect to carry a briefcase that only has a handle. Technically it’s expandable, but that’s by way of unsnapping a flexible gusset from the inside. The folds of gusset material are kind of in the way of keeping items that are a full 11×17 inside. And since the gusset is at the bottom of the case you have to some how pile in all your crap then hoist up the rim to latch to the lid. The nominal width inside is a hair over 17 inches, but the hinges limit the width to 16 1/4 inches. So you can only store full sheets at the bottom (where the gusset and buttons are sticking out). This is a very sturdy case, well made and professional looking. Plenty of room inside with storage for everything you will need. Giving this as a gift for someone who works in construction and it will probably take a beating but I believe it will stand up to it. I purchased an Alpine Swiss backpack many years ago when my son entered college and it held up to the abuse & weight for 4 years. I trust this brand and am very please with the quality of this case. I’ve had this brief case for about 2 months now. I don’t use it every day, but 2 or 3 days a week. It is very nice looking and well made. Nothing seems loose, the hardware is firm. It stays open very well. (It clicks into place and holds open) Changing the combination is painless too. (Turn the dials to the current combination, slide the button inward and hold it, then choose your new number and release the button) I feel very confident it will outlast the others I’ve owned in the past. This brief case had much better reviews than others in the same price range (I paid $65.00) and rightly so. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. I will update this review if anything changes. This case is very light weight, unlike the leather case I had. It’s also a little deeper which accommodates binders. Very satisfied. Read more

This is my first experience with the Alpine Swiss brand. When we had stores in our little town that carried the brand, I was impressed with their perceived build quality. That is why I gave this briefcase a try. I am still impressed with the build quality. The handle is ‘leather’ wrapped, and provides a slight cushion for grip and carrying comfort. The interior a laid out well with enough pockets, file holders, etcetera. Although I embrace and use a lot of tech, I still use a Day Timer, and carry it, and a lot of other stuff for my number crunching job. It all fits, with room to spare – and that’s without utilizing the expansion feature. At this point, I would definitely buy it again, and recommend it to others. Read more

Case seems fairly well made – nice appearance. However one of the two locks was faulty. Once code was properly set, it opened once then stopped working. It was totally jammed no matter what code was put in. I subsequently tried all 1,000 codes TWICE with no success. Why? I had important materials inside I couldn’t retrieve. Customer service was unhelpful and argumentative. Kept asking the same questions and implied customer was the problem not their case. Then they asked me to send a picture!? Really? – would a picture show a latch that wouldn’t open? Thank Goodness for Amazon customer service. I had to break open the lock – then returned. Read more

Very nice sleek and durable, is definitely larger than i thought it to be but works in the end because i have a lot more stuff i need to fit in it than i thought too. A little heavy but i am a 5’2 female 130lbs definitely would be perfect as a mans briefcase 👍 Read more
